Making a Twitter Background
Here is a really cool FREE tool you can use for making pimped out Twitter backgrounds!
I have been making a few and I find this to be really useful for helping me out with that. It is extremely easy to use, even if you are a dork like me. Lolz! Because I am nice like that, I will walk you through it.
Twitter Background Maker

Starting a Background
You will see six boxes with six different designs on them. Click on the one that appeals to you, and click the tab Lets Get Started. I personally like using the blank white one because I can do better working from scratch then around another image and I know it is completely original when I have done the whole thing. : ) Either way you go, once you have it all opened up, you should see a Twitter page with your selected design on it, you are now ready to rock and roll.

Twitter Text Box
If you want to see the Twitter background only without the text box part, look on the left side and you will see Twitter Overlay. It should automatically be Ghosted, but if you want it completely off click, Off. This should get rid out it so you can see all of your background. If you want it on all the way, click On.

Main Colors for the Page
Right below that there should be a little area for all the colors of you Twitter page. Twitter Colors – Background, Links, Text, Sidebar Border, Sidebar. These should be easy enough for you to figure out. TIP: If you have chosen of the backgrounds with an image already on it, or have put your own in, when you change the colors of the background it will not change the image background. I hate that, thus for I choose a plan blank background.

Adding Shapes and Images
You can add your own shapes and images even if you already have a background image. If you would just like to add some cute little shapes click on Add Shapes, find the one you like, click on it and then click on Place. It will show up in the center of the editor that is where it comes in handy to have the center part ghosted or off. Once you have your shape you can easily move it by clicking on it and dragging it to wherever. You can resize it by clicking on the little squares on the edges dragging them.
You can add images off your computer too. By going to Add Image, and then placing them like you would a shape.

Groovy Tools for Everything
There on the right hand side there is all these little tools. They only light up if you have something to color (no der). It is for images only. Say you have a shape and you have moved it, made it how you like it, but want it a cool color. You put your courser over the gradient box and click around until you find the color you want. You can make it more transparent also, encase you do not want it so BRIGHT and blinding people. Move the Fade bar back and fourth by clicking on the little mover thing and dragging it!

Changing more crap again, are we?
Blend Mode – You can change the hue/saturation (I think that is what it is called). In other words, whether you want it to look like it is glowing in the dark or you want it to be the opposite of the color it is - you can change it there. I just mess around with it, since I have no idea what they are all for. Lolz! Styles – This is pretty simple, you can pick what kind of style you want for your image. If you want it to be outlined, smeared, or you want it to have a floating effect.

Adding Text
Go to the Add Text tab and in the top long white box you write whatever you want, you can choose what kind of font you want and then click Place. Do not worry about the size, remember you can resize it by dragging and dropping.

More Stuff
Now that you have all that figured out, there are these to buttons that say Clone and Delete. They are exactly what they say. If you just made an awesome image and do not want to have to make another one, just click Clone, and it will make an exact replica of what you just did. TIP: It will only clone one image at a time, so if you have a whole bunch together it will not do all of them unless they are clicked on. If you clone one to many, just click Delete and it will get rid of that image!

Layers of Images?
If you have layers of images but want one in front or behind the other, click on the image and then click on the arrows pointing up or down (on the right hand side) depending on how you want your picture!

This background is so messed up, I need to start fresh.
If you end up not liking anything you just did and just want to start from the beginning, there is a big ‘ol magic button that says CLEAR ALL! Thank god for that, I think I have probably clicked it a million times.

I got my background done; how can I save it?
Once you have made your masterpiece and are happy with it, you are screwed… You can not save it, because that would be too easy. Nah, I am kidding. Just go to Generate Image let it do it’s generating, then click Save Image. It will save on your computer and then you can just upload it to the website. It will tell you how to do that, encase you do not know.

My rambling after the tutorial and this needed a title like all the other paragraphs
I hope this helped, and if it did not. Let me know what you need help with. I think I went into enough detail, maybe a little too much. Lolz! This Twitter Designer tool is really great, because I know when I look on some peoples profiles they have a cool background, but they have not sized it large enough and it starts to tile itself, and you know it was no suppose to it that. Well with this - it is already sized for you! For an example of how cool it, my dog Zoie has her background made from that website. Zoies Twitter Background. You know, some people want money to make twitter backgrounds for other people. HAHA lewzars!

How big is the side bar on a Twitter background?
Have you ever seen those side bars with all the peoples information on their Twitter backgrounds? It is good to know the size, because you have to make sure they will work and fit for EVERY screen size and browser.
Width: Anything 200 Pixels and below. 200 = MAX!
Height: 495 Pixels and below. 495 = MAX!
If you want to make sure your twitter background is the right size without messing with the web tool. Make sure you make the whole background: 1200 Height and 1600 Width. Then it will be big enough and it will not start to tile.
Happy Twitter Background Making – Peace Out!
